Paul Tonko to announce run for Congress
ALBANY, N.Y. — Former Assemblyman and NYSERDA head Paul Tonko is entering the race for the 21st Congressional District. He will make the official announcement in Albany on Tuesday.
Tonko enters the race that is already filled with seven other Democratic candidates and two Republicans. They are looking to take over the seat being vacated by retiring Democratic Congressman Mike McNulty of Green Island.
Last week, Tonko and the seven other Democrats faced off in their first debate, which turned into more of a question and answer forum that ran for two hours.
