John G. Chromczak Supports Democratic Ballot Reform

New York, NY – Republican State Senate candidate John G. Chromczak supports the Democrats Ballot Reform.

Chromczak announced today that he supports a strong ballot reform initiative.  “The system that is in place today is a joke - the current process for ballot access really makes it difficult for anyone to challenge an incumbent.   I’m running against Sen. Martin Connor who is one of the top election law attorneys in the state — actually that’s his real job — to kick people off the ballot so he and his friends can stay in office,” said Chromczak.  “Lowering the number of signatures required to get on the ballot would increase the number of candidates who choose to run for office.  More candidates equal more choices for voters.  That is good for the state and good for democracy.”

Chromczak supports the ideas put forth by Democratic Assembly candidate Luke Henry.  “People like Sen. Connor and Assem. Silver would rather go to court and tie up our overburdened legal system so they won’t have to face a challenger in the voting booth.  Everyone in our great city knows that if you really want change, you have to vote for change.  Trust me, these incumbents have proven that they do not want ANY change,” said Chromczak.

  1. I really don’t like the requirements for getting on the ballot. It’s even worse if you want to run independent. I completely agree, the required signatures should be lowered. The tasks of just getting on the ballot prevents so many people from being heard.
